The Philharmonic orchestra of Moscow is one of principal the Symphony orchestra of Russia

History

Based with Moscow, the orchestra was founded in 1951 by Samuel Samossoud and carries his current denomination since 1953.

With the charismatic one and impetuous Kirill Kondrachine, the orchestra ensured the first of the symphonies n° 4 and n° 13 ( Babi Yar ) of Dmitri Chostakovitch recorded in 1961 and 1962. One can also quote remarkable engravings of the symphonies of Gustav Mahler realized at the same period.
