Philharmonic orchestra of Los Angeles
The Philharmonic orchestra of Los Angeles ( Los Angeles Philharmonic in English) is a Symphony orchestra based with Los Angeles, in the American State of California.
It is created in 1919 by William Andrews Clark Jr with Walter Henry Rothwell at his head like first Leader. It gives its first concert eleven days after its first repetition, always in 1919.
From 1964 to 2003, the orchestra occurs with the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion Los Angeles Music Center . In 2003, he moves with the close whole Walt Disney Concert Hall , work of the Architecte Frank Gehry. During the summer season, the orchestra plays Hollywood Bowl , a Amphithéâtre in the open air.
It is Esa-Pekka Salonen which ensures of it since 1992 the musical direction.
Since its foundation in 1919, the Philharmonic orchestra of Los Angeles occurs at least once per year in the sister city of Santa Barbara.
