With the Living room of spring of the CNEP and the annual convention of the French federation of philatelic associations, usually organized in two provincial towns, the Living room of autumn is one of the three more important annual regroupings philatelic traders in France. Its success led to the choice of a new site in 1988 with the hiring of 3500 m ² to the Espace Champerret (1700 m2 in the preceding site), carried to 5500 m2 in 2001 and 6500m2 in 2007.

The general meeting of the CNEP, where a third of the office is renewed, takes place during the Living room of autumn.

Animations

The essence of the Living room is consisted the provision of stands to traders presenting their stocks and postal administrations or the traders the representative with their last emissions.

Since 1951, the Grand Prix of philatelic art is given to the most successful stamps considered emitted in France, in overseas philatelic French (DOM-TOM, country of French expression) and in the invited country.

The Créaphil price makes it possible the public to reward a work created by a draftsman for stamps on an imposed topic related to the philatelic topicality of the moment and on a support completely different from the postage stamp.

Since 1992 each year, and in 1946 and 1982, a block Vignette is carried out by the CNEP to ensure the promotion and the financing of the Living room.

Since the beginning of the years 2000, La Poste supports the animation of the Living room by proposing several there put on sale anticipated of commemorative stamps. Already, for the 50e edition, it emitted a commemorative stamp that the editor of Catalog of stamps Yvert and Tellier numbered as being the 3000e stamp of France in his catalog.
