Philatelic and postal history of Russia and the USSR
The philatelic history and postal of the Russia and the Union of the Soviet socialist republics (the USSR) are dependant.
The first postage stamp of the imperial Russia is emitted in 1857. Following the Revolutions of 1917, the country becomes one of the principal members of the USSR. The dislocation of the latter involves the réémision of stamps in the name of Russia and the fourteen other States.

The Russian Station (in Russian: По́чтаРосси́и), is the postal Système of Russia. The company is responsible for the routing of the mail in Russia, as well as of the sale of the stamps. The Russian post office employs 370.000 people and has more than 40.000 offices of poste.
