In the Greek Mythology, Philammon is a Aède, wire of Chioné and Apollon and thus the half-brother of Autolycos.

Myth

In the same night, Chioné, the grand-daughter of Éosphoros, is linked with the Apollon god, who generate Philammon, and with the god Hermes, who returns it mother of Autolycos.

Being itself enthusiast nymph Argiope, Philammon has a son, Thamyris. The father like the son are considered musicians, received talent of Apollo. The first invents the choruses young girls and introduced the mysteries of Déméter to Lerne, while the second imagines new musical forms but it is private of his gifts to have wanted to compete with the Muses.
