Biography

Philip " Phil" James Selway (born the May 23rd, 1967 with Abingdon, Oxfordshire) is the beater of the British group Radiohead.

He is the oldest member of the group and certain people find to him a malicious air because of its baldness, which is naturally not the case. The other members of the group call it nevertheless “Bald Member” (~bandmember). It joined Radiohead because their old woman limps at rate/rhythm was broken and that they did not have the means of buying another of them. Its play of very precise battery since became an element characteristic of the sound of the group. Before Radiohead has success, Phil studied English and the history at the school of technical education of Liverpool. It also turned with various musicians and had been English professor near foreign students. Phil has a wife, Kate, and three wire: Leo, Jamie, and Patrick (with whom Kid has, Amnesiac, and Hail to the Thief is respectively dedicated).

Apart from Radiohead

Phil is voluntary for association The Samaritans . He played with the group Divine Dive in March 2005. He appeared in the film Harry Potter and the goblet of fire within the " group; The Weird Sisters" with Jonny Greenwood (Guitarist of Radiohead), and Jarvis Cocker spaniel, leader of the group Pulp.
