Phil McNeely

Phil McNeely is a Canadian politician . He is currently appointed with the legislative Assemblée of Ontario, representing the district of Ottawa-Orleans under the banner of the Liberal party of Ontario.

In the provincial election of 2003, it has demolishes the deputy outgoing progressist-conservative Brian Coburn by approximately 4500 votes. It was named whip of the government on October 23rd, 2003.

It creates the controversy the July 19th 2006 when, in the context of the israélo-Lebanese Conflit of 2006, it qualifies the State of Israel of " State rebelle" ( rogue state ). It was immediately rabroué by the Prime Minister Dalton McGuinty, its head of party, who declared: " The comments of Mr. McNeely reflect neither the opinion of the government of Ontario nor that of the first ministre." McNeely emitted excuses for the language which it used, but in an telephone interview with the Ottawa Citizen , it defended its comments, affirming that it was so disturbed by the destruction and deaths with the Lebanon which he felt obliged to denounce them.
