Philémon Cousineau
Philémon Cousineau (October 25th 1874 - March 3rd 1959 is a politician Québécois born with the St. Lawrence (Montreal). It was Député of the district of Jacques-Cartier to the legislative Assemblée of Quebec of 1908 with 1916, under the banner of the Conservative party of Quebec.
After studies in right to the University Laval, it briefly practices the occupation of lawyer with Joseph-Gédéon-Horace Bergeron. It obtains its Doctorat in right same university in 1901 and undertakes a career of administrative and constitutional law professor, whom it parallel to carries out his political career.
He is initially elected as mayor of the St. Lawrence in 1905, then three years later, the head office of Jacques-Cartier to the legislative Parliament gains. He becomes briefly chief of the Conservative party of Quebec and of the Official opposition, in 1915, before being demolishes with the provincial election of 1916.
It is named judge of the Superior court of Quebec, in 1920. It returns to ensegnement from the right in 1940, as senior of the Faculty of Law of the Université of Montreal.
