Phenylalanine (gélose)

Phenylalanine (gélose) is a biochemical culture medium allowing the research of the enzyme Phénylalanine désaminase.

Principle

This medium catalyzes the following reaction: Phenylalanine - > Acid phenylyruvic

The phénylpyruvate gives a green color in the presence of ion iron 3.

Composition

L-phenylalanine: 1g/L

Yeast extract: 3g/L

Sodium chloride: 5g/L

Phosphate bipotassic: 1g/L

Agar 12g/L

PH 7,3

Reading

This medium is presented in gélose tilted.

The reading is done after addition of Perchlorure of iron.

Green slope after addition of Perchloride of iron - > PDA+.

Unchanged slope after addition of Perchloride of iron - > PDA-
