Phelsuma standingi
This large gecko has a base of color clear or brown gray, with darker points. The head is green clear, and the clear blue tail. The lines transversal can appear on the body, but these geckos is sometimes also mouchetés.
They have a rather massive aspect, and apparent scales (rough aspect).
The colors in general are marked at the small ones. It should be noted that coloring varies according to the activity, and that it is much duller at rest.
Geographical distribution
One meets this Espèce in the south-western south of the island of Madagascar.

Climatic parameters
In its Biotope, the temperatures reach the 30°C locally the day, with an average rather around 25°C. The night those fall in the neighborhoods of 20°C. The Hygrométrie is a little weaker than for the majority of the Phelsuma , between 60 and 70%.
Breeding in captivity
This gecko is considered accessible to the initial terrariophiles, because it tolerates more than the majority of his cousins the temperature variations and moisture (attention however, this is relative, and badly looked after, this species can die quickly).
A Terrarium of 60x60x80cm (width, depth, height) is appropriate for a couple (see Comportement : only couples).
Food
These reptile S is Insectivore S and consumes the majority of the Insecte S of adapted size. It also consume fruits, by licking pulp.
Behavior
The males are very territorial and fight when they are in presence. The females also present this character (with respect to the other females) what is rather rare at the geckos.

The eggs incubate from 60 to 100 days according to the temperature, which can go until 28°C.
The small ones
The small ones are blue pale with red bands, with colors more marked than in the adults.
