This list (not-exhaustive) of the Pharaons , classified by chronological order and gathered by dynasty, comes from many sources and is sujette  à  discussion, especially for the oldest times and the turbid periods. The modern references the more reliable are of:

• Jean Vercoutter, of with;
• Claude Vandersleyen, of with;
• University of Cambridge (Cambridge Ancient History), of with;
• Nicolas Grimal, for the totality of the chronology.

The name retained for each Pharaon is that most usually met in French-speaking Egyptology. Other transcriptions, as well as the Greek names (written in italic) are given between brackets. The complete titulature of each Pharaon is given on the page of each one.
