This mini-series of 3 episodes starts directly with the presentation of the " Phantom" , an assassin except par.

History:

Reiji is an young man, party to follow his studies to the United States. Hardly arrived on the spot, it attends an assassination, perpetrated by a gunner you elite embusqué. With the great surprise of this last, the boy has, without the knowledge to locate the cushy job of the gunner. The young man starts to run at any speed, while the assassin continues it. Both are found in a dark lane, where the young boy finds himself at the thank you of his attacker. This last is about to kill it, when a voice leaving the shade requires of him to save it.

The young boy is then led in a secret place pertaining to a strange criminal organization who leaves him two choices: to die on the spot, or to become in its turn an assassin.

The organization is interested by the innate capacity of Reiji to have located the cushy job of the murderer. Not having of another choice, the young man, decided to live, will be taken in hand by his old attacker, an young girl of his age, will be called “Ein” (one in German) . Reiji is renamed “Zwein” (two in the same language) .

Other made disconcerting, Ein does not seem to feel any emotion by killing its opponent, whereas the young person, has a certain evil to him to decide to press on the trigger. Gradually, Ein which appears without heart, watch a face much more human with his/her new friend, which destabilizes it, while offering a certain hope to him…

By looking at these three OAV, it is completely possible to do it parallel with Noir. Ein can point out a little to us Kirika, the tueuse amnesic of the series. In Black, Kirika is hung up again with a word: Black. In Panthom the Animation, Ein is hung up again with pendentive, only vestige of its past. Both make a meeting which will upset their life…

Mini-series (three OAV) is quite as mysterious, by putting in scene an organization of the shade making of the murder its goodwill. Their role is to train assassins and to send them on mission according to les...com mandes, to see the needs.

Graphically, the unit is of very good quality, with a really neat design. The accent is of course front door all on the principal protagonists. The music is also beautiful and involving.

My opinion to finish. He well at the beginning, to see a history of assassin left me a little marble, the first minutes left me small a look of deja vu (Black for example). Then progressively, one plunges in this mysterious universe with great pleasure. The scenario is certainly not revolutionist, but the characters are completely touching and attaching and that is with my taste well hooker.

The fact that there is not that three episodes allows us to advance quickly in the history, without losing one moment, which tends to terribly annoy me with the series of 26 episodes and more. At all events, I must acknowledge well that I would not have balked if there had been some episodes moreover.

The mystery remains whole, even at the end, one can thus wonder whether a continuation is not awaited, considering one remains a little on his end, but at the same time, that leaves free court to the imagination of the spectator, enabling him to realize (in its head), a possible continuation ^_^.

In short, Phantom The Animation is an excellent small series which I advise with all.
