The Peugeot 207 is an automobile model of Peugeot marketed since 2006.

The Peugeot 207 is without any doubt the model headlight of the mark to the Lion, and will gradually replace the Peugeot 206 after nearly eight years of good and faithful services. It will have to face an already ready competition, mainly made up of the news Renault Clio III and Large FIAT Punto. However, more door, more expensive and larger than the 206, it does not replace it really the latter which preserves a good success.

The 207 , or project A7 , division thus the same platform as his/her cousins the Citroen C2 and Citroen C3. It is longer than the Peugeot 206 of 20 cm and posts ~200 kg more on the balance: its gauge then approaches that of the Peugeot 306.

Its features already had been discreetly revealed with the Auto show of Frankfurt in September 2005 in the form of the Concept-because 20Cup , which presented the shield to us before future 207 . It was conceived to modernize the look 206 in the line of the 307, but the research department had received for instruction to moderate the evolutions in order to avoid a ill-considered taking risk on a model which ensures a big part of notoriety and success of the mark.

The 207 is declined in three versions:

  • the Truck: available in 3 doors and 5 doors
  • the Peugeot 207 SW station-wagon of leisures (Station-Coach)
  • the Peugeot 207 DC (Cut Convertible)

The 207 is manufactured in the factories of Poissy, Madrid then Trnava.

The Peugeot 206 will remain marketed in parallel with the 207 to fill the “pit” between the small town one (Peugeot 107) and “large” and general-purpose the 207 , but will be gradually pushed towards the markets known as of great export which will receive the news 207 only later on.

Thanks to the recent agreement made between the group PSA (Peugeot Citroen) and BMW, the 207 will accommodate a very new engine of 1,6 liter of cubic capacity and which will be declined in several versions:
  • 1.6 DOHC 16v 120 ch (EP6) (TU5JP4 replaces)
  • 1.6 DOHC Turbo Direct Injection 16v 150 ch (EP6DT)
  • 1.6 DOHC Turbo Direct Injection 16v 175 ch (EP6DTS) on the 207 RC
  • 1.4 DOHC 16v 95 ch (EP3): availability September 2007
  • 1.6 DOHC Turbo Direct Injection 16v 185 ch (2009)
Moreover one will find in line entry the small engines of the 206:
  • 1.4 SOHC 8v 75 ch (TU3)
  • 1.4 DOHC 16v 90 ch (ET3) (replaced by EP3 for the summer 2007)
