The Petty thieves or Marauders in English are a team of super-unpleasant created by Mister Sinistre in order to make assassinations. One learned later that the recruitment of each member was done via Gambit which was unaware of these true activities ( UXM #350 ).

Origin

The first mission of Marauders was to carry out the operation Mutant Massacres , the organized genocide of the Morlocks, a community of mutants living in the sewers of Manhattan ( UXM #210 ). Morlocks, which had chosen to move away from human for lack of combativeness, underwent many losses, until the arrival of the X-Men, come with their help. At the court of the combat, sudden Diablo of the critical wounds on behalf of Riptide, which was then strangled by Colossus. Étincelle was transpierced by a projectile launched by Harpon, becoming intangible in a permanent way. Little time after, the whole of the Petty thieves was sent to assassinate Madelyne Pryor, the woman of Cyclops and mother of their son ( UXM #221 ). They found vis-a-vis them once again X-Men which at the end of a hard combat managed to put them in rout.

A few months later, during Inferno , Madelyne Prior become the Queen-Demon, used sorcery to find the trace of the Petty thieves, who hid in the sewers where had lived Morlocks ( UXM #240 ). Corrupted by the Evil generated by Inferno, X-Men became as violent one and vicious as the Petty thieves, and ended up killing several of its members.

One revives Dents of Saber and Vertigo, and more recently Long knife at the side of Mister Sinistre which integrated the project Arme X under the features of the Dr. Windsor .

Recently, the Petty thieves (or rather their clones) attacked X-Men. The team does not count any more same the members. See Members

  • Arclight : Philippa Song, mutant equipped with super-force which makes use of it to generate shock waves
  • the Breaker: Michael Baer, equipped him also with super-force, managed to hold head with Thor in term of pure force
  • Dents of Saber: Victor Creed, nemesis of Wolverine, equipped with a capacity with cure and sharpened claws
  • Harpoon: Kodiak Noatak, a inuit which can charge with the objects in explosive energy; use harpoons in general, from where its code name
  • Long Knife: John Greycrow, an old GI which carries an armor enabling him to assemble various weapons mortals in a few moments; have a capacity of cure
  • Malice: one entitée psychic which can jump in a body in order to control it
  • PRISM: its crystalline body enables him to deviate the beams of energy launched against him
  • Riptide: Janos Questad, can rotate at a superhuman speed while generating projectiles starting from its body, making any approach impossible
