Petter Adolf Karsten
Petter (or Peter ) Adolf Karsten is a mycologist Finnish, born in 1834 with Merimasku close to Turku and died in 1917.
It makes its studies with the Université of Helsinki and leaves to settle inside the grounds, in the Paroisse of Tammela, where it devotes its life to be taught and study at the Institute of agriculture of Mustiala (today known like the faculty of agriculture of the university of sciences applied HAMK). It carries out the majority of its research in the vicinity immediate of Tammela, in an geographical area of very reduced size, except for a forwarding in the Péninsule of Cola during its youth.
Regarded as the father of the Finnish Mycology, it gathers a vast collection and describes approximately two hundreds new S and two thousand new S.
