Petrobras
Petróleo Brasileiro S.A - Petrobras , is a Brazilian Entreprise of research, extraction, refining, transport and sale of Pétrole.
Its seat is located at Rio de Janeiro.
It arrives in 2004, at the head of the first 200 Brazilian companies.
Principal shareholders in 2004: federal union to a total value of 32,22% (55% of the rights to vote), Brazilian purse 12,73%, as well as BNDES, 7,91%.
The company was founded in 1953 by the Brazilian State with an aim of managing the activities of the oil sector on behalf of the Union of the federate States of Brazil ( União in Portuguese), to replace old the National council of oil (CNP).
It appears today among the 15 plus world oil large companies. It has a leading-edge technology for deep deep water drilling and ultra, with world records of depth (2 km).
Production of oil in 2003 and more than 2 million barrels per day.
Petrobras is present in 18 foreign countries, in particular in Angola, Tanzania, Turkey and India where it is based on its control of deep water drillings.
In May 2006, Evo Morales decided to nationalize the resources of gas and oil of Bolivia, which assigns to the first Petrobras chief.
