Petr Buzek

Petr Buzek (born the April 26th 1977 with Jihlava in Czechoslovakia today town of Czech Republic) is a former player of Hockey.

Career

Called in '' The Bionic Buzek '' by his friends and former fellow-members, it was the choice of 3rd round of the Stars of Dallas (the 63e on the whole) to the fishing out of entry in the LNH in 1995. It was classified in the 10 first of the players to being fished out this year but three days before the scéance of fishing out, Buzek was victim of a serious road accident which passed close making him lose the life.

Buzek played its hockey junior for his birthplace and in 1994-95, it rejoingna HC Dukla Jihlava of the Extraliga where it played 43 parts. The accident arrived the night of June 3rd, 1995.

While turning over to its residence, he fell asleep at the wheel of his vehicle and he ran up against full whip a tree. A friend who was on board with him have the broken nose, but Buzek lost conscience, had the two legs fractured, the broken right kneecap, a wrist broken, the broken knob, the broken nose and it also undergoes a fracture with the head. He acknowledges not to have carried his safety belt and is very lucky to be still in life. He regained consciousness later only three days and one of the first things which the doctors announced to him, was that he was to prepare to pass the remainder of these days in wheelchair.

With surprised of all it was fished out all the same, the Stars believing in him encouraged by defraying the costs of surgeries that Buzek needed. The Buzek bionics sees its rehabilitation being prolonged over one year and manages in 1996-97 to play 67 meetings with the K-Wings of Michigan, the club-school of the Stars in the international league of hockey.

The consulting room of doctor of the league let it play although it then had a plaster and 10 screws in its left leg, a plaster and 7 screws in its ankle right, two screws in its right knee and two other screws in its left wrist. Not only it succeeds in recovering this accident but it also has succeeds in rising on the level of the National league of hockey.

June 25th, 1999, he was claimed by the Thrashers of Atlanta to the fishing out of expansion, which enabled him to spend the season 1999-00 complete in the LNH, playing 63 matches. The defender also added an offensive side to its play by registering a total of 19 points and these performances made of him the first player of the history of Thrashers be taken part in a match of the stars, at the time of the 50 {{E}} edition in 2000. It misses the majority of the following season because of a wound to the neck undergoes on October 17th, 2000 against the Mighty Ducks d' Anaheim.

With the international level, it joined the national team of Czech Republic and takes part in the championship of the world junior of less than 20 years and in the championship of the world junior in 1995. He was also member of the Czech national team which gained the gold medal with the championship of the world in 2000.

In 2004, Thrashers send it like their choice of 6th round to the fishing out of 2004 (Adam Pardy) to the Flames of Calgary in return of Jeff Cowan and the right on Kurtis Foster. He plays during two season with the Flames before turning over as a Czech Republic where he will play for 3 teams in two years before joining HC Slovan Bratislava.

He withdraws competition at the summer 2006.
