Synopsis

The action occurs at the beginning of the 20th century. The arrival of Peter, a young orphan fleeing his adoptive family, in Passamaquoddy, small town of the New England, more precisely in the Maine, is not done without evil. Strange events all occur, have due his/her companion Elliott, a dragon endowed with invisibility. Only Lampie, the guard of the headlight rather related to drink, manages to see the dragon. But discredited by its defect, he does not convince anybody.

Reccueillis by Nora, the girl of Lampie, Peter and her dragon are not at the end of their sorrows. The inhabitants of Passamaquoddy hold them for persons in charge of the lack of fish while Doctor Terminus seeks to deliver Peter to his parents and, worse, to cut up the dragon to sell it of pieces to preparers in Pharmacie…

  • the Phare which one can see in film was built with Morro Bay in California. It was equipped with a so large beacon that Disney had to obtain a special permission of the coastguards to actuate it, because the boats passing by there could have confused it with a true headlight.

  • Jeff Conaway which interprets Willie Gogan, the " frère" of Peter, the role of Kenickie in Grease will play.

  • the organizers chose an Eastern dragon rather than Western because the Eastern dragons are usually associated with the Good.

  • the singer Helen Reddy, famous for its feminist anthem I Am Woman , makes its second appearance with the cinema in the role of Nora, whereas the veteran Mickey Rooney plays his father, Lampie.
