Peter Townsend
Peter Wooldridge Townsend (November 22nd 1914 - June 19th 1995) was a British pilot of the Second world war and officer of RAF. It was Écuyer king George VI of 1944 to 1952 and fulfills the same functions near the queen Elizabeth II in 1952-1953.
It was born in 1914 with Rangoon (Burma) and followed its studies to the Haileybury and Imperial Service College of Hertford Heath (Hertfordshire). It entered the Royal Air Force in 1933.
The Group Captain Townsend is more known for his idylle unhappy with the princess Margaret. In spite of its brilliant military career, it had, being divorced, no chance to be able to marry the princess, and their connection caused many controversies at the beginning of the Années 1950. Thereafter he married a Belgian, Marie-Luce Jamagne.
He was one of the many military advisers of the film the Battle of England made in 1969.
Townsend died in 1995 with Rambouillet in the Yvelines (France).
He was titular several decorations: royal Order of Victoria, Order of the service distinguished, Distinguished Flying Cross-country race.
His/her son, Gilles Townsend, are president of the Cambridge Bomber and Fighter Society ; its other wire Hugo Townsend married Yolande, princess of Line.
