Peter Sinfield
Peter Sinfield (born on December 27th 1943 with London) is mainly known as lyric writer of the group King Crimson of the beginnings. It took part in In the Court off the Crimson King , In the Wake off Poseidon , Lizard and Islands , of which he is also producer.
Robert Fripp having required of him to leave the group, Peter Sinfield continued to be active on the scene of the progressive Rock. It produced the first album of Roxy Music, and recorded then an album solo Still , in 1973. The album is brought out later out of CD with additional pieces, like Stillusion . He then wrote words for Greg Lake (he also old of King Krimson), of Emerson, Lake & Palmer, like for Italian progressive the rock'n'roll group PFM and for Gary Brooker, former pianist/singer of Procol Harum.
Later, he also worked in the popular music, for example he wrote the words of " The Land off Make Believe " for Bucks Fizz and " Think Twice" for Celine Dion. He also worked for David Cross, another old of King Crimson.
Sinfield is especially known for its words of the Christmas carol " atheistic " of Greg Lake " I Believe in Father Christmas." Left in individual in 1975, then on the disc " Works Vol.2 " ELP in 1977, " it became a standard of Christmas (begun again by Claude François in 1978).
Poetry visionary of Sinfield is deeply inspired by Shakespeare, Shelley, Blake and Rilke; he is regarded as one of the very rare poets of the world of the rock'n'roll.
