Peter Pettigrow

The author makes of it for the first time mention in the volume 3, in chapter 10.

Peter Pettigrow is a wizard born in 1960. Small of size and breadth, not larger than Harry or Hermione, it has the fine, faded hair and a beginning of baldness. Its eyes are small and wet. Its head resembles that of a rat and its dye is earthy. It misses a finger with the right hand, it cut it itself in 1981 to simulate its death.

It however had some difficulties of being subjected to its authority but was used to him all the same as servant at the time of the visit of Narcissa Malefoy and his/her sister Bellatrix.

It is found, in the seventh and last volume, the Manor of Malefoys. Whereas it is sent to check that Ron and Harry are well locked up in their dungeon, it has during one moment one moment of pity towards Harry which recalls him that he saved the life to him (in the volume three). Because of this moment of humanity, Peter Pettigrow is strangled by his own hand, that out of money worked by Voldemort.
