Peter Lékó

Peter Lékó , Lékó Peter in the usual Hungarian order, born the September 8th 1979 with Subotica in Yugoslavia (currently in Serbia), is a player of failures Hungarian. At the beginning of the 21e century, it belongs to the ten best world players.

Its career

Regarded a long time as a Child prodigy, it obtained the title of international Large-Master in 1994.

It forms part since 1999 of the 10 best world players, but its reputation of player who does not take a risk and which is often satisfied with the null part let doubt his prediction: “I will be world champion! ”.

He gained in 1999 the Tournoi of Dortmund, in 2003 the Tournoi of Linares and in 2005 the Chess tournament Corus of Wijk-aan-Zee.

In June 2007, it is qualified for the Championship of the World 2007 by beating Mikhail Gurevich then Evgeny Bareev.

Anecdotes

It is known to have a long time tried to convince its close relations of becoming Végétarien because it was persuaded, like Zoltan Gyimesi of the positive influence of its diet on its speed of reflection. There moderated its reasoning since but remained an enthusiastic vegetarian.
