Peter Frankenberg

Peter Frankenberg (* 29. Juni 1947 with Bad Honnef) is a geographer and German politician.

Peter Frankenberg is in 2007 Minister (CDU) for research and the culture in the government of the Land of Bade-Wurtemberg. Before its political career he was president and vice-chancellor of the Université of Mannheim and holder of the physical pulpit of Géographie and regional Géographie at the University of Mannheim.

Scientific life

The geographer Peter Frankenberg was especially specialized in the Climatologie and the Biogeographie. He was also regards as one of the rare German specialists in the French-speaking Africa. During its scientific life Frankenberg trained various academic pupils of which Dieter Anhuf, Martin Kappas and Alexander Siegmund.
