Peter Banks , born Peter Brockbanks the April 8th 1947, is a guitarist English, former member founder of the group Yes.
Biography
Peter Brockbanks begins his career with The Nighthawks, as of 1963 with which it continues during one year, before leaving them for another English group, the Devil' S Disciples. Still another year then Peter joint with the Trade unions, before founding the group which carries out it towards a certain fame, The Syn, in which officiate Chris Squire with low and Andrew Price Jackman with the keyboards. This formation leaves some individual, of which Created by Clive and The 14 Hour Technicolour dream , which have a certain success in England about 1967-68. Then, following a meeting between Chris Squire and the ex-singer-leader of the Warriors, Jon Anderson, Syn change name and of personnel to choose a sound even more modern, and will become thus Mabel' S Greer Toyshop. After having, for a time, left this formation to join another group, Neat Changes, Peter Banks returns within Toyshop, which becomes Yes. After two albums which, in spite of a certain success, do not have the width desired by its members, the guitarist leaves Yes.
He then founds his own group, Flash , and records also a first album solo, The two sides off Peter Banks , with the members of his new group and also Phil Collins with the battery, Steve Hackett and Jan Ackerman with the guitar and John Wetton as bass player. But, following contentions with its musicians, Flash will fall through after three albums and Peer Banks joined Blodwyn Pig , thus replacing for a short amount of time the guitarist Mick Abrahams, ex-Jethro Tull and, finally, it sets up the group Empire , with amongst other things, Ian Wallace, ex-beater of the Warriors and King Crimson, and Phil Collins who will also take part in a first album of this formation. Since, that is to say towards the end of the year 1970, Peter Banks continues his career solo
