Pertharite
Pertharite is a king lombard of Italy, wire and successor of the king Aripert (661); catholic king , it sits at Pavia while, curious thing, it shares the capacity with his brother Godepert, sitting Co-king arien with Milan, the old capital of Lombards. His/her brother assassinated shortly after by a conspiracy of palate directed by Grimoald, duke of Bénévent, it prefers to flee to undergo the same fate and finds initially refuge at the Avars of the khagan Kakan then near the Francs. However, its wife Rodelinde and her oldest son (?) Cunipert, captured by Grimoald, is sent in Exil to Bénévent.
In 671, returned of exile, it seizes finally the power and goes up on the throne lombard. It makes Catholicism the official religion of the kingdom but does not recognize the papal authority , sign peace with the Byzantine and associates his/her Cunipert son with the capacity starting from 678. He fights vainly against rebel Alagis, duke of Thirty, before dying assassinated in 688, victim of a conspiracy.
