Perth (Scotland)

Perth is a center trading and tourist (church St John 12th/15th century) located at the center of the Scotland, in the past chief town of the County of Perth (Perthshire currently)

It owes its name with the river Tay on which it is located ( Bertha Aber The = mouth of Tay). Agricola would have built there a fortified camp (Perthusanum) for the period from Roman conquest. The city was the capital of kings d' Écosse since XIIIe century until the reign of Jacques III.

In 1396 took place the “Battle of the Clans” and, in 1559, John Knox made there a speech which marked the beginning of the introduction of Protestantism in Scotland.
