Persis Khambatta
Persis Khambatta (October 2nd 1948 August 18th 1998), is an Indian actress.
Born with Bombay, this magnigic Indian was crowned Miss India in 1965, it then made a career of mannequin in particular for Revlon before turning to the cinema.
In 1979 she played the role of the Lieutenant ilia in the first film STARTREK, role for which she shaved truly the head, enormous sacrifice when one knows the importance of hair of a woman in India.
Nevertheless its cinematographic career never started truly, and in spite of an appearance noticed in the Falcons of the night in 1981 with like partners Sylvester Stallone and Rutger Hauer, it was limited to some appearances in series TV and Telefilms.
In 1980 a serious automobile accident in Germany left him a large scar on the head. a few years later it had to be operated heart.
It engaged politically at Indira Ghandi, and just like it was death threat by religious fanatics. One year before its death she wrote a book on her experiment of India Miss: " Pride off India" whose share of the royalties was transferred with the missionaries of the charity of Théresa mother.
August 17th, 1997, it entered to the hospital of the marine of Mumbai, while suffering from strong pains in the chest. She died the shortly after a massive heart attack. She was 50 years old.
