Algol (β Persei) is a variable star with eclipses of the Constellation of Persée, of magnitude 2, which periodically varies every 2 days and approximately 21 hours. ALGOL has a dark companion who occults it and is responsible for his fall of luminosity, it thus acts of a Binaire to eclipses (it is representing it of this class). The distance which separates us from ALGOL is of 92,8 light-years.
