Perished Jacopo
Jacopo Peri is a type-setter and singer Italy N, born with Rome the August 20th 1561, and deceased with Florence the August 12th 1633. It is called zazzerino because of its abundant fair-russet-red hair.
In 1588, it enters to the service of the large-duke of Tuscany, Ferdinand II Médicis. In 1598, it composes, in collaboration with Jacopo Corsi, on a booklet of Ottavio Rinuccini a work entitled Dafné , but of which there remain only some fragments.
October 6th, 1600, is given to Florence at the court of the Medicis, Euridice the first opera which reached us, on a music of Jacopo Peri and a booklet of Rinuccini. It is about a dramatic Pastorale, entirely sung, in a new style, the stile rappresentativo or style monodic. Work is sung by Peri, itself and Vittoria Archilei. Caccini will rewrite certain parts.
Perished is opposed to Caccini; first is holding of the style Récitatif, whereas the second incorporates frequent ornaments in his compositions.
