Periodic Comet

A periodic comet is a Comet which was observed with more Périhélie and/or which has a orbital Period lower than 200 years.

The Comet S periodicals do not receive numerical designation before to be observed with more Périhélie. In almost all the cases, the comets are named according to their discoverers (in the case of 2P/Encke and 27P/Crommelin, it acts of the person having calculated to them Orbite). The orbits of periodic comets are particularly difficult to calculate because of the possible disturbances of the Planet S. But even in this case, the trace of certain periodic comets can be lost in consequence of a degasification or of a fragmentation.
