Period Thinite

The period thinite (or antiquated Time ) starts under the Pharaonic one and finishes under the second. It covers one period going of the surroundings from -3100 to -2700. Its name comes from the town of Thinis, close to Abydos, from where the Pharaons in these dynasties were originating. The capital is already Memphis, which has an intermediate geographical location between North and the South. The Egyptian name of Memphis means “the white walls”, but a Pharaon of, Pépi {{Ier}}, will make there build a pyramid that the Egyptians will call Men-nefer, “stable is the beauty” and who will give the name to the site.

The first Pharaon of this period is the king Ménès (or Narmer) who unifies the Two Grounds. Under the second dynasty, all the Egyptian systems are in place, of which the religion which will be stabilized in all the times.

The art of the time thinite

The art of the first two dynasties is that which really puts in place conventions of the Egyptian art, in parallel with the emergence of the political system and social. At the same time a funerary architecture which develop and a varied funerary furniture are known.
