Percubaba

Group French of Rennes in Brittany. Original and effective fusion, the music of this formation knew to synthesize the influences and the tastes of the musicians who compose it, one surfe on a wave of happiness born of the currents Reggae, Ska, Ragga, Funk, Hip-hop and Rock. The fine team grew while making speak about it above all by her concerts shaken and shaking, more than 400 in 5 years. Indeed its doctrines are the dawa, that is to say " foutre the brothel on scène" (sic) (from where Foutadawa the name of their label) but also and very quickly in the rooms, the festivals, or anywhere besides, provided that good mood is with go!

History

It is in 1997 with the Maupertuis college with Saint-Malo that the history starts: young people come to repeat in the room placed at their disposal by the establishment. Two groups, one rather " rock" and the other more centered on the percussions, gather to form Percubaba , they are then 9. They take part with groups of other colleges in a springboard organized by the city, of the name of Rockabahut, and gain their first concert.
The vat out of pocket, they leave to Rennes for the studies and start to connect the concerts with 11, in small rooms, bars or café concerts, with a troop of pals which follows them everywhere and ensures environment, cutting a certain experiment of the scene.

In 1999 they crééent their own label to remain independent, which they call Foutadawa according to their watchword of scene; and autoproduisent a demonstration of 4 titles recorded into live, exhausted today. Thanks to the turner Yapucca (Louise Attaque, Wampas, No Smoking, etc) they start to play in all France and abroad.
In April 2000 leaves the first album studio the group, éponyme, own-produced by Foutadawa Prod and on a regional level distributed by the Major, then in all France in 2001 by Pias.

Second album, Dream and Strup , leaves in 2002 and gives place to round which is prolonged until 2004, immortalized in Live CD&DVD of which the principal representations are recorded in 2003 and 2004 in Muzillac and Freedom in Rennes, but which also contains files since the beginnings of the group (many vidéos and photographs, titles new and be delirious in any kind); however the exit of this Live was pushed back several times, for finally arriving on March 21st, 2005.

Percubaba is posed then a moment in withdrawal of the scene to mug up a very matured and complete album named AntistatiQ which leaves in October 2006; on this occasion place has one evening special with Cesson-Sévigné (close to Rennes) with the group Pause (Guizmo the instigator of this group took part as a guest in the song G8 on this new album) which opens the round 2006-2007. In concert the group proposes sets live controlled to perfection, increasingly impressive and always also jouissifs.
The round will finish on September 1st, 2007 by another special concert: in " récompense" of its promotion of the Breton free radio Sing_Sing , this one organizes on September 7th, 2007 one evening " Of Cade off Dawa" at the height the Holy Father of Saint-Malo (place of the Route of the Rock'n'roll) to celebrate the 10 years of seniority of Percubaba with Yosh (which belongs to Foutadawa) and other groups of common influences.
