The péramélidés ( Peramelidae ), commonly called bandicoots , are marsupial of small size with average of a few hundred grams to two kilograms. they are digitigrades with rear limbs adapted to the race and the jump. The fourth finger is developed whereas the others are generally reduced.
During the gestation, which is short (12 days in certain species), it is formed a placenta. In the marsupials, one finds this characteristic only at the Koala S and the Wombat S.
