Perak
The Perak ( Darul Ridzuan ) (Jawi: ڨيرق) is a state of Malaysia. Its name means money in Malayan. Perhaps this one comes from the iron layers which were the source of the mining development at the 19th century.
Cities of Perak
The capital and principal city are Ipoh and the royal city is Kuala Kangsar. The other cities are Taiping and Teluk Intan.

History
One found in Ipoh a statue of Bouddha which one dated from the Life century after J.C., and in Jalong, the statue of a priest Hindouiste that one dated from IXe century.At the XIX century, Perak is an important producer of tin. The English, who have already the Strait Settlements (" establishments of the Strait ") of Malacca, Penang and Singapore, are interested in this State. But of the quarrels between Malayan prince on the one hand, and of the fights opposing the Chinese secret societies, disturbed the production of the mines of Perak.
In 1871 the Ali sultan dies. According to the complex system of succession of Perak, it is the prince Rajah Abdullah which should have been named its successor, but it is prince Raja Ismail who is elected. At the same time, two Chinese secret societies fought for the control of the tin mines.
Abdullah calls upon the British assistance then to solve these two problems. The English seize this occasion to extend their influence in Southeast Asia and to reinforce their monopoly on tin. Thus is signed in 1874 the Traité of Pangkor . This treaty enters the the United Kingdom and the applicant with the throne of Perak formally marks the beginning of the British intervention in the businesses of the States of the Malayan Péninsule.
Demography
The population of Perak is of approximately 2 million inhabitants. The economic decline making following the closing of the iron mines was not slowed down by a diversified economy. The town of Ipoh, economically remains not very active. So that the old state more populated country became a hearth of emigration towards Kuala Lumpur, Penang, even Singapore.
Tourism
The island of Pangkor is famous for its possibilities of diving.
