Per Mertesacker

Per Mertesacker is a Football German or born the September 28th 1984 with Hanover.

This defender with the impressive physique (1m96 for 85kg) is regarded as one of the best players at his station in Germany. He is however characterized by cleanliness from his play at a station where the faults are multiplied. In 104 matches of Bundesliga, it collected only 5 yellow paperboards. Called die Abwehrlatte (large the " perche" defense), Per Mertesacker is also famous for its play of head, often at the origin of goals. In spite of a certain slowness with starting, its placement and its engagement on the duels compensate for this defect amply.

Formed to Hanover 96, it is transferred in 2006 to the Werder Bremen for the sum from 5 million euros.

It is one of youngest players to be selected in team of Germany. Initially associated with Robert Huth, then Christoph Metzelder, it is essential quickly on this station and takes part in the World cup 2006 when it fails in semi-final against the Italy. Wounded, he will not play the match for the third place, gained 3-1 against Portugal.
