Pentti Holappa

Biography

Pentti Holappa was born the August 11th 1927 with Ylikiiminki in north from the Finland. Of modest origin, he exerted various trades until being a Minister for the culture. Autodidact, it published about fifteen collections of poems, six novels and some tests. Translator of Charles Baudelaire, Pierre Reverdy, Jean-Marie Gustave Clézio. It approaches the world with humility. It is a poet of daily modernity and also a poet of the love, love of the boys. It accepted the Prix Finlandia 1998, the equivalent of the Prix Goncourt for Finland.
