Pennywise

Pennywise is a group of Punk rock'n'roll of Hermosa Beach, California, founded in 1988. Influenced by the Californian scene and of the groups such as Bad Religion, Minor Threat or TSOL, the quartet, composed of Jim Lindberg (song), Fletcher Dragge (guitar), Byron McMackin (battery) and Jason Thirsk (low), play a Punk rock'n'roll fast and melody with the accents hardcore.

After the publication of two EP in 1989, Pennywise signs a contract with Epitaph. At this point in time the group leaves its first album which will have a great success near the scene “underground” and the medium “skate” of Los Angeles. Thereafter, the group of Hermosa Beach (California) will continue to attract itself fans with albums such as The Unknown Roads or About Time . Among the most known songs of the group one finds " Fuck Authority" or " Alien".

In 1996, Randy Bradbury replaces Jason Thirsk which leaves the group in order to try to control its growing alcoholism. After the suicide of this last, the group enters during one strange time which will give rise to their most known album ( Full Circle in 1997).

For a few years, the group has continued its rounds while leaving the albums which always keep a mentality “Punk”, without letting itself try towards a turning more “pop” of this kind.
