Pennsylvania Gazette

The Pennsylvania Gazette was most famous Journal the United States of 1723, before the period of the American revolution, until in 1800. It was published for the first time by Samuel Keimer and was the second newspaper to be appeared in Pennsylvania, under the name of The Universal Instructor in all Arts and Sciences: and Pennsylvania Gazette . The October 2nd 1729, Benjamin Franklin and Hugh Meredith bought the newspaper and shortened the title of it. It ceased appearing in 1800, ten years after the death of Franklin.

There exist currently three originals which are preserved by: The Historical Society off Pennsylvania , The Library Company off Philadelphia , and the Wisconsin State Historical Society .
