The human penis is constituted of three layers of fabric:

• both cavernous Body ( will corpora cavernosa penis ), and
• the spongy Corps ( corpus spongiosum penis ) under them.

The distal end of the widened and coniform spongy body constitutes the nipple of the penis ( glans penis ). The nipple is surrounded by the Prépuce ( preputium ), a fold of Peau which can be withdrawn to discover the nipple. The foreskin sticks below the nipple by a band of skin, the brake ( frenum/Frenulum ). The interior portion of the foreskin includes a highly innervée zone, recently discovered, which is called the striated band.

The foreskin helps in the insertion of the penis during the Coït, is used to keep the wet nipple and allows a slipping motion which improves the sexual pleasure for the man. For various cultural, religious and medical reasons, the foreskin is often removed; its ablation is called the Circoncision. The circumcision usually involves the ablation of the band striated as well as ablation or the damage with the brake.

The Urethra ( will urethra ), which constitutes the last part of the urinary Tractus, crosses the spongy body; its exit, the urethral meatus ( meatus urethralis ), is at the end of the nipple. Comparison with the other mammals

The anatomy of the human penis is distinguished from that of the penis of the majority of the other mammals by the absence of Baculum, a Os which is used to set up the penis before the act of Copulation. The cavernous Corps of the human penis are gorged with Sang to reach the erection. The Homme cannot thus retract its penis in its body. The human penis is a little more important, relative with the body mass, that of the other mammals.
