Penetration rate of the market
The penetration rate of the market is a term used in Marketing to indicate the cover of the Marché by a product or service given.
It is expressed in Pourcentage and is obtained by the following report/ratio:
- number of Consommateur S which has the product or service/total population.
It can be calculated for the whole of the fournisseuses Entreprise S (examples: percentage of the households equipped with a PC, an bank account, etc), or for each one of them. In this last case, the total of penetration rates of the market can be higher than 100% since a given individual can have products or similar services coming from various suppliers.
The penetration differs from the Market share which is the share of Turnover of each supplier compared to the total of the sales of the whole of those, over one year for example
