Pema Lingpa

Pema Lingpa (Tibetan: པད ་ མ ་ གླིང ་ པ ་, Wylie: Pad-my Gling-Pa) (1445/50-1521) is one of the “Tertön S” whose Padmasambhava prophesied the arrival. He lived with the Bhutan, of 1450 to 1521 and he would be the incarnation of the large Master Longchenpa (Longchen Rabjampa) (1308 - 1364). At 15 years, it had a vision of Padmasambhava and, at 27 years, it accepted a list of 108 sites of Terma S to be discovered. He discovered 32, and charged his son, Dawa Gyaltsen with them, to continue his research; this one, in its turn, had a son named Gyalse Pema Tinele.

It founded a number of temples in the valley of Choekhor in the county of Bumthang, of which Tamshing Lhakang.

The notable descendants of Pema Lingpa include Jigme Singye Wangchuck, of the Bhutanese royal family, and the 6th Dalaï Lama.
