Louis-Joseph Maurin (Ciotat, February 5th 1859 - Lyon, November 16th 1936) was a man of Église French which was archbishop of Lyon (1916 - 1936).
Resulting from a family of the coast of Provence, he studied with the French seminar of Rome where he obtained the ranks of Doctor of Divinity and of bachelor in canonical Droit.
- 1885 - Cleaned of Desbrousse.
- 1890 - Professor of Philosophy to the Institute Belsunce and chaplain of the College.
- 1895 - Priest of Holy-Anne.
- 1899 - Priest of Holy-Marguerite, then of Saint-Michel.
- 1906 - general Vicar and priest of Saint-Charles (Marseilles), then vice-chancellor of Our-Lady-of-the-Guard and Archdeacon of Saint Martin's day.
- 1911 - Bishop of Grenoble.
- 1916 - Archbishop of Lyon (December 2nd, established the January 25th 1917).
- 1916 - Cardinal with the title of the Trinity of the Mounts (December 4th and established by the Pope the December 12th).
The first in the French episcopate, it asserted the rights of the France in Syria and Palestine, raised the voice for the Poland.
It also founded the Ligue for the rights of the catholics .
