Pehr Löfling

Peter (or Per or Pehr ) Loefling (or Löfling ) is a Botaniste Swedish, born the January 31st 1729 with Tolvfors in the parish of Valbo (Swedish province of Gästrikland) and deceased of the Paludisme the February 22nd 1756 with San Antonio de Caroní (Guyana vénézuélienne).

After studies with the University of Uppsala where it follows the courses of Carl von Linné (1707-1778). It goes in Spain in 1751 to learn the Spanish .

It takes share with the forwarding of exploration of the South America which leaves Spain in February 1754 for the Venezuela.

It is Linné which makes appear its only scientific article posthumously, Iter Hispanicum, eller resa til Spanska Länderna uti Europa och America 1751 til 1756 in 1758.

Linné will dedicate the botanical kind to him Loeflingia of the family of the Caryophyllacées.
