Pedro Martinez of Rosa is a racing driver Spanish born the February 24th 1971 with Barcelona (Spain). It began in the championship from the world from Formule 1 with the Grand Prix from Australia 1999, and controlled for the stables Arrows and Jaguar, before becoming the pilot-tester of the stable McLaren - Mercedes starting from 2003. It found a wheel of holder after the setting with the variation of the Colombian pilot Juan Pablo Montoya starting from the Grand Prix of France 2006.
Biography
It is on the edges of a track of race that Pedro discovers the world of the competition: indeed, it is impassioned of automobile radiocontrolled. It is even twice titrated vice-champion European and reached the second rank of the world hierarchy. Then, after a short passage by the Karting in 1988, Pedro of Rosa begins the automobile sport in 1989, in the championship of Spain of FIAT Uno, where it is titrated. This title is worth to him to be constant by the Spanish federation within a project baptized “ Racing for Spain ” and intended to support the emergence of the best Spanish hopes to the more high level. In 1990, it takes part thus in the British championship of Formule Ford 1600, then in 1992 with the British and European championships of Formule Renault, which it gains both. The two following years, it disputes very raised British championship of Formule 3, but without much success. Its career being then at the died point, On Rosa decides to be exiled with the Japan starting from 1995. Champion of Japan de Formule 3 as of his first season within the formation Toyota Tom' S, it passes of category Formula then Japanese where it takes down the title in 1997, while carrying out some measuring rods in championship WP. That enables him to finally knock on the doors of the Formule 1.Pilot tester on behalf of the stable Jordan in 1998, it is established the following year at Arrows, thanks to the support of his sponsor Repsol. As of its first GP in Australia, it carries out the exploit to hang the point of the sixth place. The continuation of the season is less profitable, but by regularly taking the ascending one on its swift Japanese fellow-member Tora Takagi, Pedro posts a promising potential. In 2000, it confirms its beautiful performances by registering 2 points with the championship.
Beginning 2001, Pedro of Rosa seems party to dispute a third season at Arrows, but the British stable decides to separate from him and Repsol a few days hardly before the beginning of the championship. It finds refuge in the stable Prost Grand Prix as a pilot tester (with the promise to be quickly established), but before even as a contract is not finalized with the French team, it leaves to join the stable Jaguar Racing, always in the capacity as pilot tester, then of holder to replace Brazilian the Luciano Burti starting from the GP of Spain. Immediately powerful in her new team, often faster than her famous fellow-member Eddie Irvine, Pedro of Rosa registers 3 points with the championship. But in 2002, following the takeover in Jaguar of Niki Lauda in the place of Bobby Rahal, the position of Rosa becomes unstable within the British team, where it pays moreover its very conflict relationship with Irvine.
Not retained by Jaguar at the end of the season 2002, Pedro of Rosa is engaged by the team McLaren - Mercedes starting from 2003, as a 2nd pilot tester (behind Alexander Wurz). Appreciated for its speed and its good technical return, he even sees himself making it possible to dispute GP of Bahrain 2005 to replace Juan Pablo Montoya, inalienable following a wound with the shoulder. Very powerful (though a little unmethodical), it finishes fifth of the race after being made it possible to precede its fellow-member Kimi Räikkönen in qualifications and to sign the best turn in race.
Always pilot McLaren tester in 2006, it is established starting from GP of France 2006 in the place of Juan Pablo Montoya, évincé of the team after having announced his reconversion as from 2007 in Nascar. In spite of a beautiful second place under the rain in Hungary (the best result of its career in F1), its performances are overall in half-tones.
A time had a presentiment of to become in 2007 the team-member of its compatriot Fernando Alonso, the great British hope Lewis Hamilton is finally preferred to him. He thus finds his role of pilot-tester, a function which he shares as in 2006 with Gary Paffett. For this reason, it is implied in the business of espionage opposing Ferrari to its stable, shown to have used confidential technical data belonging to the Italian stable. At the conclusion of a procedure of several weeks, the TRUSTED will prove that several members of the McLaren team, whose Pedro of Rosa and Fernando Alonso, had used the data of Ferrari while being informed of their fraudulent source. Having collaborated in the investigation of TRUSTED, they will not be sanctioned, contrary to their stable, condemned to a fine of 100 million dollars and to the withdrawal of the points to the championship of the manufacturers.
