Pedro Shine Boitel

Pedro Luis Boitel (1931 - 1972) was a cuban poet and martyr of the catholic Foi.

After having supported the come to power of Fidel Castro, as a president of the association of the students in engineering of the University of Havana, Pedro-Shine Boitel passes quickly in the opposition. It is stopped and condemned to ten eight years of prison.

Refusing to disavow its Christian faith, he is tortured by the civils servant of the mode Communiste and dies in his cell the May 24th 1972.

He is regarded a martyr and as the emblem of peaceful resistance to oppression by the opponents with the mode castrist.

Its last days were reported by his/her friend, the poet Armando Valladares.
