Pedro Lascuráin Paredes
Pedro Lascuráin Paredes (May 8th 1856 with Mexico City – July 21st 1952 in Mexico City) was a lawyer then minister and very briefly president of the Mexico.
Lascuráin was Foreign Minister of the cabinet of Francisco I. Madero. The February 18th 1913, the general Victoriano Huerta shift president Madero. In order to give to the Coup d'etat a legal appearance, Huerta lets Lascuráin assume the presidency; Lascuráin then names Huerta chair supreme court of Mexico, then resigns promptly, giving thus constitutionally its president's functions to Huerta.
Lascuráin was thus president during less than one hour (according to the sources from 25 to 55 minutes). Huerta offered then a ministerial wallet to him, but Lascuráin declined this offer.
Lascuráin had obtained a license in right in 1880 to the Escuela Nacional de Jurisprudencia . He was a mayor of Mexico City before being named Foreign Minister first once from April 10th to December 4th, 1912 then from January 15th to February 18th, 1913. He directed the Escuela Libre of Derecho , most famous of the schools of right of Mexico City, during 16 years, he published primarily in the field of the civil law and commercial.
