Biography

Resulting from the rows of karting, Pedro Lamy becomes champion of Portugal de Formule Ford in 1989, the year of her beginnings in automobile sport. After having gained the championship of Formula Opel Lotus in 1991, it passes to Formula 3 in 1992 and gains as of its first participation the statement Championnat of Germany de Formule 3. This year there, it is essential also on the Masters de Zandvoort de Formule 3, a test which brings together the best European pilots of F3. Then regarded as one of the greatest hopes of the world automobile sport, Lamy is recruited by the stable Lotus to dispute the last sleeves of the championship of the world of Formule 1 1993, to replace Alessandro Zanardi, is wounded. Lamy carries out her return to the competition later one year, when the small team Minardi calls upon him to replace Pierluigi Martini starting from the GP of Hungary, in August 1995. At the end of the season, it registers at the time of the GP of Australia the first point of its career and the first point marked by a pilot of Portuguese nationality in Formule 1, thanks to a sixth place. Always at Minardi in 1996, it carries out one discrete season, at the conclusion which it does not manage to remain in Formula 1.

Lamy since reconverted himself into the competitions of Endurance, of which it is one of the best world specialists as its many titles attest it and success in the championships TRUSTED WP and Mans Series. It in particular gained championship LMS 2007 of category LMP1, at the wheel of the prototype Peugeot 908 which it divided with Stephan Sarrazin. This same year, it finished in second 24 hours position of Mans (as a crew with Sebastien Bourdais and Stephan Sarrazin).
