Pedobaptism
The pedobaptism is the Baptême of an young child. If baptized does not speak yet, they are its godfather and godmother who engage on his behalf. If it did not reach the Age of Enlightenment, it is of use, in the Catholic church, to form it until it reached maturity necessary, for then pronouncing its Profession of faith.
These doctrines are not explicitly indicated in the texts néotestamentaires. But the denomination which practices it evoke the passage which speaks to baptize “a whole house” (ac 16,15 and 33; 1 Co 1,16) and justifies it by the doctrines of the need for the baptism for the safety of the heart (Jn 3,5).
These doctrines were proclaimed at the time of the council of Carthage in 418 and of the Concile of Florence in 1441. The council teaches that the baptism can be used as remedy against the Original sin . These doctrines were rejected by the movement Anabaptiste at the century.
