Pecq
Pecq is a common French, located in the department of the Yvelines and the area Île-de-France.
Its inhabitants is called the Alpicois .
Geography
The commune of Pecq is located in a loop of the the Seine, to 19 km in the west of Paris, the foot of the Château of Saint-Germain-in-Bush hammer.Its territory is distributed on two banks of the river and includes small a island, the island Corbière. It is strongly urbanized except for the Corbière island, protected partially like zone of nesting of migratory birds. Until after the Second world war, an establishment of baths functioned on this island. Two other establishments related to water were famous in Pecq: a spa exploiting the many sources of the hill of St-Germain and a natural water swimming pool 100 m length with sand beaches!
The commune of Pecq is bordering on the communes of the Mesnil-the-King (Career-under-Wood district) in north, of Montesson in the North-East, the Vésinet in the east, the Croissy-on-Seine in south-east, the Port-Marly in the south, Marly-the-King in the south-south-east, Mareil-Marly in south-west and Saint-Germain-in-Bush hammer in the west.
The communications are assured mainly by the secondary road 186 which makes it possible, on left bank, to join the Trunk road 13 and the Trunk road 186 with the Port-Marly and which, in direction of the east, the Vésinet and Chatou, crosses the Seine with the bridge of Pecq. This bridge built in 1963, consists of flattened arches in Acier resting on two central concrete piles. West coast the abutments are decorated statues representing the Oise and the the Seine. These statues were carried out by Rene Letourneur. Two plates posed recently by the town hall to identify these river evocations, however hide the signature of the artist who also carved works for the college Jeanne d' Albret of Saint-Germain-in-Bush hammer. The other important transportation routes of the commune are the secondary road 190 which starts with the bridge of Pecq and gives access Saint-Germain-in-Bush hammer towards the west as well as the secondary road 159 towards the Mesnil-the-King north and the secondary road 7 towards Marly-the-King the south.
In the railway plan, the commune is served by the RER has with the Gare of Vésinet - Pecq.
History
The currency of Pecq is Alpicum in Pago , shortened Alpicum in Pago Piascenciasis and which means Petites the Alps (or Aupec) in country would grip .

Architectural heritage
- Saint-Wandrille Church: the current church, with triangular pediment, was built by the architect Sebastien Jan as from 1739 on the site of an old church. This church is that of the parish of Pecq.
- Saint-Thibaut Church: building in Concrete and wood, built in 1964 by the architects Perrouin, Lunel and Jung, surmounted by an arrow in wood veil 30 height meters. This church built on the territory of the commune of Pecq, was built on the initiative of the inhabitants of the field of the Large Grounds with Marly-the-King, which did not diposaient then (about 1960) of any close church. It is one of the five places of worship of the parish of Marly-le-Roi/Le Pecq/L' Pond-the-ville/Le Port-Marly.

railway Viaduct: work dating from the end of the 19th century. Comprising a score of stone arches and prolonged by an iron bridge to the top of the Seine and by two tunnels, it is traced in curve and unevenness to allow the line whose terminus was initially in Pecq to reach the Gare of Saint-Germain-in-Bush hammer.
- the Château of Assembles-Cristo, residence of Alexandre Dumas, located on the commune of Port-Marly is managed by the Intercommunity association of Assembles-Cristo including with Port-Marly the communes of Pecq and Marly-the-King.
