Pech de Bugarach
The Pech de Bugarach or Pic of Bugarach is a French peak of the Aude, in area Languedoc-Roussillon
It is the culminating point of the Corbières, with 1.230 meters of Altitude. His top one enjoys a splendid panorama which extends from the the Pyrenees to the Black Montagne and the the Mediterranean to the High Valley of the Aude.
Since his top, the night of the July 13rd and 14th, per good weather one can see the fires of artifices of the Aude of the Ariège and the the Eastern Pyrenees. Inter alia, the splendid fireworks of Carcassonne is completely visible.
It is a curiosity Géologique, because resulting from a laid down crumpling, the roadbases are older than the sub-bases. Therefore it is called " the mountain inversée".
Several excursions lead to it: since the collar of Linas, since the Road of Saint-Louis-and-Parahou and fenestrates it, and since Prugnanes and the Sentier cathare via Campeau.
It is on its slopes that the Agly takes its source.
Finally the pech of Bugarach is the site of legends and varied mysteries, like being a major reference mark for the UFOS, covering an immense cavity, to shelter a fabulous treasure, or to concentrate " ondes" telluric favorable to the Celtic rites. Training courses " mystiques" take place in the neighborhoods, which comprise like major rite to spend one night at the top.
